General
We offer a "pay what you can" model, so you only pay what you can afford for your services.
The workflow for our services generally follows the below guidelines.
- After filling out the long-form survey, we will contact you about your requested service.
- We will then email you a detailed survey if you selected the Comprehensive Package that will help us better serve you. Please answer the questions to the best of your ability.
- We will contact you to determine if we need anything else from you.
- After gathering the necessary information, we will send you the work product after our review. Timing depends on the service offered. See below for expected timing.
You are more than welcome to email us with any questions while you are waiting for your document or service.
When complete, we will send you a markup in .pdf and word that compares your initial draft with our comments. If you choose our Comprehensive or Premier services, we will send you (i) a short loom video with screen share that walks you through our reasoning and thought process behind our more complicated comments and (ii) a one-page summary that outlines the strengths of your essay, areas for improvement, the edits done to your essay, and closing thoughts.
We guarantee to provide you with the best possible service at a price that works for you.
We are usually not our best critics. We think that we are saying something clearly, but an outside observer may think otherwise.
Having an experienced third party review your work is critical because they will be able to view your work from a new perspective and comment on issues that you may have not even considered.
Please see the "Why Us?" page for a more detailed response.
Anyone who is applying to college, graduate, or professional school who wants an experienced third party to review their documents. We, however, specialize in law school admissions.
Additionally, if you are applying for a job in the work force, we can review your resume, cover letter, or other materials.
We work with students in high school applying to college, students in college applying to graduate or professional school, and students already in higher education who currently wish to transfer schools. We also work with those who are applying directly for jobs in the work force. However, we specialize in students applying to law school.
Unfortunately, at this time we do not provide general essay editing services for students. We only provide essay editing services in connection with students applying to college, professional, or graduate school. However, we specialize in law school admissions.
The advice below generally applies, so please check your specific school for the exact deadlines. As a general matter, the ideal time to apply is shortly after the application process opens and not wait until the deadline.
Law School Important Dates
- August - February
Law schools typically start accepting applications on a rolling basis from August/September through February or March of the following year. We recommend at least 3-4 months to prepare your essays and other materials and at least 2-3 months to study for the LSAT. You can prepare for both concurrently, but with your current school workload and other obligations, it might be easiest to first take the LSAT and then prepare your essays and other application materials.
If you are currently in law school and considering transferring schools, transfer applications typically open in May and close in July for a 2L start date in the Fall.
MBA Admissions Important Dates
- September - April
Many business schools begin taking applications in the Fall on a rolling basis for different rounds. For example, certain schools may have a Round 1 application that opens in September and closes in November and a Round 2 application that opens in December and closes in February. Other business schools may start accepting applications in April for a start date in the Fall as well. MBA admissions vary by school, so please consider the specific school you are applying to.
Generally, the advice remains the same: it takes 2-3 months to study for the GMAT or GRE and 3-4 months to prepare your essays and supplemental application materials.
Medical School
- May - June - December
While most medical programs have applications that open in May and have cut off deadlines around the Fall/Winter, it is ideal to begin submitting your applications around June.
Please allow 3-4 months of prep time for the MCAT and an additional 2-3 months for your application materials.
Graduate School
- October - December
Most graduate programs have deadlines in the fourth quarter of the year, so you should begin preparing your application materials and studying for the GRE around 3-4 months before hand.
College
- August - February
Most schools have application deadlines around January/February with applications opening up in the early in the fall.
Please allow yourself 3-4 months to study for the ACT/SAT and prepare your application materials.
Some schools have rolling admissions or early decisions admissions, so please consult your specific school for hard deadlines.
Pricing

Unfortunately, we do not have a refund policy. If you are not happy with the services we have provided to you, please contact us, and we will set up a call with you personally to make it right.
Personal Statement and Diversity Statement
College, graduate, and professional school applications require applicants to write a personal statement - and a diversity statement is typically optional. Other than supplemental essays or perhaps your resume, the personal statement is really your only way to give your reader a glimpse into what defines you, while the diversity statement is a way to highlight some unique aspect of your life experience. While standardized test scores and GPA make up an important aspect of your application, writing an outstanding personal statement and diversity statement can help separate similar candidates on the fringes and help a candidate with non-target standardized test scores or GPA stand out. It can help your admissions reader fight for you if they see potential in you. In short, it can only help you to have a well-crafted personal statement and diversity statement.
Before committing significant sums of money to college, graduate, or professional school, spending a small amount to put yourself in the best position to qualify for a scholarship or gain acceptance to one of your reach schools is probably worth the risk given the potential reward.
We are often not the best critics of ourselves and tend to see what we want to see rather than what is. Having an experienced third party review your essay and provide feedback will help sharpen your thoughts and ensure that the point you want to make is made and thus increase your odds of success.
Lastly, writing an outstanding personal statement or diversity statement can potentially take over one hundred hours. Having a third party help you will drastically reduce the amount of time preparing.
No. We provide an editing service and will help you fine tune and revise your essays. We will provide suggestions on how to improve your essays, and if you choose to follow our suggestions, you must draft and incorporate those new concepts and ideas as necessary.
Between 48-72 hours.
A narrative outline is a tailored outline in Word that maps out your unique story that will eventually become the roadmap to your personal statement or diversity statement.
A strong narrative outline completes roughly about 50% of the work for your essay, with the remainder left for drafting and fine tuning.
You will receive comments that generally fall into four categories: grammar, style, story, and commentary.
Grammar comments will be inline edits that fix issues with commas, semicolons, punctuations, capitalization, and other similar grammatical errors.
Style comments will be inline edits that fix issues relating to awkward sentence structure, clarity, and vagueness. Comments will be made to rephrase sentences to include more vigor and power as appropriate. Comments will help show your reader why you are X rather than telling them that you are X.
Story comments will discuss the narrative arc of your essay and provide substantive ideas on how to improve the story, such as by including suggestions on the following: comments on certain elements and/or paragraphs of your essay to align with your ultimate vision; thoughts on how to organize your essay for optimal effect on the reader; comments on ways to structure the story, introduction, body, and conclusion; suggestions on the direction you should take the essay; and comments on other similar big picture/structural issues.
Commentary comments will discuss the reasoning for certain changes as necessary.
You will receive a clean version of your revised essay in Word, along with a .pdf and Word markup against the initial draft sent, which will show the cumulative changes to date.
In addition, we will record a loom video that walks you through our thought process for the comments. More specifically, we will discuss the reasoning for the more complex comments like our suggestions to the narrative arc and story.
It depends on the progression of your initial draft, but a good rule of thumb is that you should plan for at least three revisions. You may have to rewrite paragraphs and rethink your entire structure after the initial revision, but with each successive revision, the picture will sharpen. Eventually, you will have a well polished product that will be ready for submission.
We will discuss the big picture narrative arc of your personal statement or diversity statement, and we will provide you with suggestions based on your survey responses to craft a unique story that wows admissions officers.
Zoom Sessions
The Zoom one-on-one sessions are designed as live discussions so that we can solve problems on the spot and provide real time analysis and advice. Often, it is more efficient to discuss issues live than over email or comments so that any questions or other considerations can be addressed in real time.
A strategy session is a one-on-one live session dedicated to discussing strategy related to some aspect of your application.
For example, we can have a strategy session on how to further revise your personal statement after the first round of edits and talk through it live. We could discuss planning for your upcoming admissions cycle and how best to organize/plan your study strategy and applications. We could also discuss any of your additional addenda, such as a low standardized test taker statement.
